A Beautiful London Wedding
There’s something about a London wedding that feels effortlessly stylish—grand architecture, quiet mews tucked away from the main streets, classic black railings, and the kind of urban backdrops that give every moment a cinematic feel. Chantelle and Chris’ wedding at Islington Town Hall had all of this and more, wrapped up in a day that was full of love, emotion, and the best kind of family celebration.
A Family-Filled Morning in Islington
Getting ready was a true family affair, with Chantelle and their 7-year-old daughter sharing a special morning together. In a gorgeous Islington hotel, she twirled with delight in her Needle & Thread of London dress—a dreamy, tiered gown that was as playful as it was elegant. Meanwhile, just down the corridor, Chris was getting ready with their 2-year-old son, looking sharp in a Moss Bros suit and bow tie.
The whole morning had a calm, intimate feel, with moments of excitement building as they prepared for the day ahead.
An Emotional Ceremony at Islington Town Hall
The Assembly Rooms at Islington Town Hall provided the perfect setting for their ceremony—classic, grand, yet intimate, and filled with their closest family and friends. Even after 10 years together, the moment they saw each other sparked a wave of happy tears. Maybe it was the joy of finally having the day they had always imagined? Whatever it was, the emotion in the room was raw and beautiful.
The floral arrangements were soft and romantic, with delicate pinks, purples, and yellows—the perfect match for the city setting and Chantelle’s stunning dress.
A Walk Through London’s Iconic Streets
After the ceremony, their kids and close family headed to The Coach pub to kick off the celebrations while we took a fantastic walk through the streets of Islington.
London weddings always offer something special, and this one didn’t disappoint. Over an hour, we explored an incredible mix of locations—
• A pelican crossing (because why not!)
• Grungy alleyways that added texture and edge to the portraits
• Quiet, charming streets with brightly coloured doors
• And, of course, outside the pub with all their friends—a confident, friendly, and playful group who brought so much energy to the photos.
This was exactly the kind of couple’s session I love—relaxed, full of movement, and completely unique to them.
A Celebration of Two Families & Two Cities
This wedding wasn’t just about two people—it was a beautiful fusion of families. With Chantelle from Birmingham and Chris an East End boy, the coming together of their loved ones was amazing to witness. And their friends? Clearly a huge part of their lives, bringing joy, laughter, and a whole lot of fun to every moment.
From London to Manchester – A Photographer’s Dream
I headed back to Manchester that evening feeling creatively fulfilled, knowing we had captured something truly special. And as a little extra, I shot a couple of rolls of old-school film alongside the digital images. I love adding this to a wedding—there’s always an element of surprise when the images are processed, and the nostalgia it brings is something truly special.
Manchester to London? Never a problem, always a joy. Two incredible cities—different in feel, but both buzzing with life, energy, and endless opportunities for stunning wedding photography.
